“AI Unlocked” – Erasmus+ Training Course 21/03/2026 – 29/03/2026
Kolín, Czech Republic

From 21st to 29th March 2026, Kolín, Czechia once again became a space for learning, sharing, and new ideas—this time through the Erasmus+ training course AI Unlocked – Critical Thinking & Artificial Intelligence. Over seven days, youth workers and young people came together to better understand how AI is shaping the world around us and how we can use it responsibly.
About the Training
AI Unlocked is a 7-day Erasmus+ training course focused on building both confidence and responsibility in using AI tools, while strengthening critical thinking and digital literacy. The topic felt especially relevant—AI is already part of our everyday lives, but not everyone feels equipped to use it in a thoughtful and informed way.
Throughout the training, we explored how AI shows up in daily life as well as in youth work. It wasn’t just about tools, but also about understanding what’s happening behind them, questioning outputs, and thinking critically about the information we consume and create. At the same time, we looked at how digital tools can support learning, creativity, and communication when used in a balanced way.
The group brought together participants from different European countries, which made discussions richer and more grounded in real-life experiences. Everyone came with slightly different perspectives on AI, digital safety, and working with young people—and that variety really shaped the learning process.
What We Focused On
The training combined theory with a lot of practical experimentation. Some of the main areas we explored included:
- Learning how to use AI tools effectively in everyday life and in youth work.
- Strengthening critical thinking and digital literacy, especially when working with online content.
- Understanding online safety, including data protection, privacy, and digital footprint.
- Reflecting on healthy digital habits and how to maintain balance in a constantly connected world.
- Sharing experiences and approaches related to AI and youth work.
- Designing and testing educational activities and workshops that can be used with young people.
A big part of the programme was hands-on. We didn’t just talk about tools—we actually tried them, compared results, and reflected on their strengths and limitations. It was interesting to see how the same tool can be used in completely different ways depending on the context.
Learning by Doing
The training followed non-formal education methods, which meant a lot of interaction, open discussion, and learning from each other rather than just listening. There was space to ask questions, challenge ideas, and share doubts—which, with a topic like AI, felt especially important.
One of the most valuable parts was working in groups to create our own educational activities. These can now be adapted and used back home in youth work settings, making the experience practical and long-lasting rather than just theoretical.

What We Take With Us
By the end of the week, AI Unlocked felt less about “learning AI” and more about feeling comfortable navigating a digital world that keeps evolving. Participants left with new tools, but also with a more critical mindset and a clearer understanding of both the opportunities and risks connected to AI.
It showed that working with artificial intelligence doesn’t have to be overwhelming—as long as we approach it with curiosity, responsibility, and a willingness to keep learning. And maybe that’s the most important takeaway: not just to use technology, but to understand it, question it, and use it in a way that actually supports young people.
